Coronavirus: What it means to us

These are unprecedented times – the coronavirus Covid-19 has affected many lives, not just with the risk of illness, but also in the daily routine and ability to get out and see friends and family. For the elderly and those with dementia, the effects of isolation and risk is particularly heavy.

At Active Minds, the wellbeing of people with dementia, and their carers, is as important to us now as ever and we believe that wellbeing comes from continued positivity and connection. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be doing what we can to help give support where we can and champion wellbeing at this time. Providing continuous touchpoints and opportunities to provide joy while in isolation will be our focus.

We are running on all cylinders making sure that orders are fulfilled as timely as ever, and we’re working with partners, such as the Alzheimer’s Society, to continue providing the best services we can.

In the meantime, for anyone at home or in care homes please make full use of our activities app, ‘Support for Care’ – we are currently giving free full access to all activities to anyone who downloads the app. This can be found on the App Store and online.
