Thank you to Jeremy at Clarkson Wright & Jakes Solicitors for running his Dementia Friends session with our team.

A ‘Dementia Friend’ learns a little bit more about what it’s like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action – anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend.

From helping someone to find the right bus to spreading the word about dementia on social media, every action counts.

Here are ‘Five key things everyone should know about dementia’:

1) Dementia is not a natural part of ageing

2) Dementia is caused by brain diseases

3) It’s not just about losing your memory

4) It’s possible to live well with dementia

5) There’s more to the person than the dementia

In April 2014 our team will join a all-day session at the Alzheimer’s Society offices in London to become Dementia Champions.

And we will then be running our own Dementia Friends sessions from our Head Office in Old Street, to help spread the word and in turn also help to create dementia friendly communities.

If you’d like to find out more or book into an hour-long only session, visit http://www.dementiafriends.org.uk/session
