Bingo is a hugely popular pastime in the UK, with up to 3.5 million players reported in Britain alone. We play with our friends or with bingo buddies, at bingo halls, online, or on our phones. So when dementia is diagnosed and playing traditional bingo becomes no longer possible, the loss of a favourite hobby can be distressing.
That’s why we invented Animal Bingo, the first product to be launched as part of our brand new dementia games line.
Unlike conventional bingo, Animal Bingo uses beautifully-illustrated cards featuring a range of different animals. Each animal matches up to an authentic animal noise that is played by the bingo caller. The aim of the game is to match nine animals on your card and shout ‘Bingo!’ to win.
The game can be played by up to 12 people at a time and even comes with an illustrated flipbook that can be used as an extra prompt. All parts are made of plastic, card, or wood, making the game long-lasting and durable.
Not only does Animal Bingo allow people to once more enjoy their favourite hobby, it’s also great for encouraging interaction, conversation, and connection – all vital to people living with dementia. The game has been specially developed to allow people at all stages of the condition to play together and so makes a great addition to any care home, as well as a game to be played at home amongst friends. Most importantly, it’s fun!
